Philips and The Monkey Pen - Glad by Chance

Hi,

Where I live in United Arab Emirates in the city of Dubai where there are different multi-culture and citizens from all over the world. Majority are from Asia, India, Pakistan and Philippines.  Me, origin from the Gulf - Arab.

Went out to have good time with my family two older daughters, after we had a nice dinner we decided to hit the the movies not far from the same shopping mall. Movies in UAE mostly are in English, Arabic, Hindi with other different languages from India maybe Malayalam and other languages.

So that day we reached at the counter and screen quick for the most suitable movie that I can watch with 13 and 16 years old daughters. We could not find much and most of them already started maybe 10mins ago. Younger daughter saw one movie, on the booklet of the current movies playing, where is clearly title of the movie mentioned 'Philip and the Monkey pen" with a picture of a kid and two adults and is comedy. Since I wear contact lenses, I have difficult times to see closer such a movie booklets although I can see it but not clearly.  Movie selected and ticket purchased - all in our mind we are going to watch English Comedy movie.

Inside the theater there were about 2 or 3 families, movie started and with background light I identified those families are from Indian origin, kind surprised me, as very rare for them to spend money on English Comedy movie. Anyway, we sat and watch the movie that was translated in Arabic and all characters speaking in a - honest I don;t know exactly but I think was Malayalam language from part of India.

Let me tell you something, we never ever go and watch movie other than English and rarely Arabic or Indian movies - Bollywood, but this one ",,,the monkey pen" was even not of any languages. So I think the title confused us.  Took time to adjust and slowly minute by minute we sank into the story and time to time we joke with each other how we end up seeing such a movie.  In our part of the world, if such movie is showing I can say 100% who will watch are the one who knows that language, and for us to see is like very strange, if others they will just walk out in few minutes. But we did not, and I tried to be open minded, and also the good think is it was translated in Arabic so it kept me going.

Honestly at the end we were glad that we watched the full movie. It was so inspiring and well directed. The first chapter before the interval was like introducing the characters and 2nd was exciting.  It was about the school kids - and most suitable for kids and adults alike.

We learned and Inspire us about the relation of parents and their kid, our parents with their parents, life at early stage at school, about teachers and pupil, friendships, culture boundary and how to live together - The main character parents, father was Christian and mother was Muslim.  We laughed, we cry and and we did really enjoy the movie.

Lesson Learned:  Never under estimate anything.  Do not stick to the customs - for us was like if we knew from the ticket counter that the movie was in another Indian language, although the title was in English, we will never watch. So we are all glad we watched this movie by chance and really enjoyed.

Lets us be Open Minded and Try New Things - We never Know in process we may expand our Knowledge and learn new things.

Watch thew trailer below of the movie:

Sport is most powerful tool to united people - Nelson Mandela

The 16th Man

Inspiration action took by Nelson Mandela, a political activist, former first black South African President, inspired me to sit down today and type this blog.

The 16th Man.  That's is the documentary I came across when as usual screening TV channels quickly to find some kind of movie or whatever to make me sleep and have a cool afternoon nap. But then came across the documentary - The 16th Man, and I did not have sleep, it inspired me to think out of box, and even made me to share some tears....was so touching and powerful.

In short, The 16th Man is the documentary about the South African Rugby team - SpringBok and inspiration behind Nelson Mandela when he took office and run the first democratic country where all nationals are equal.
Nelson Mandela

Although the South African team was well known and tough, they missed the first two world cup competitions in 1987 and in 1991 because at that time South Africa practice apartheid where no equal rights for blacks, the anti apartheid sporting body with support from many countries boycotts South Africa in all sporting events.

Nelson Mandela, who was jailed for more than 26 years at an isolated island Robben Island, then released in Feb 1990, and became first democratic president of South Africa in 1994 of a country with lots of hatred between blacks and whites.

Blacks demanded revenge for their suffering under minority whites in their own land, while whites where worried and also very nervous and ready to shoot any black if they feel danger.  In short Mandela took the country with lots of tensions with major two groups who lived for a very long time on a same land but not equally.

If you are in that situation as President what will you do? Armed blacks to revenge? how about if whites use their all power? they can take over again the country and civil war can erupt.  But for Mandela, he is a wise leader, he is not a normal person like you and me.  Spending 27 years of his life in jail where white are superior, and one day he find himself he is the president who rule both black and white.  That's tough.  Well, let;s go back to the documentary - The 16th Man.

He use power of sport.  In the beginning both white and black could not understand him clearly the inspiration and motivation behind it. For black, they were surprised by Mandela supporting the team that all in their life they know is for whites only.  And as for whites, they were like not sure with Mandela what he is upto.

But for Mandela, I can say right now, he was very wise to use Rugby team SpringBok to bring together the Nation and United people and to heal the longtime wounds. When he took the presidency, he promised the team and the people that he will make sure within a year the Rugby World Cup will be held in South Africa.  For whites that was like a dream.  So what he managed to do here, is to reduce the tension between black and whites.

He even wear the cap with the team emblem in his one of the field visits which was considered by many black South African is for whites only. Indeed in 1995 South Africa was selected to host the world cup.  He even visited the team during the training and encouraged them, and passed the message of unity, that they - the team - play for all nation.  The team slogan was "One Team One Nation".

Players who all were whites except one was black, surprised by president visit, it was honored for them. In the documentary one player said that, they used to be "booed" when they enter the stadium, but in this event, people were cheered them.

SpringBok the South African Rugby team qualified to the final facing the stronghold New Zealand team "All Black" that;s the name of the team since they are wearing black jersey.  A man who made all possible for such event that for so many whites in South Africa considered as dream come true and for blacks to feel that they are at home and hosting such event was honored was no other than Nelson Mandela who attended the final match.

First, he went directly to changing room and greet payers 10 mins before the match.  South African, team was about to enter the stadium and they hear un-usual chants and cheers......as they approached the door to stadium, it become clear all spectators in the stadium, young, old, white and blacks, cheers "Nelson, Nelson, Nelson, Nelson, Nelson..."

This is the man who was considered by many white South African  politicians and normal white citizens as bad news, terrorist, and as result they jailed him away far from his people, and today, he is here and his name spoken out loud by whites not in a bad way, but as appreciation and proud he brought to South Africa.

After hard match, South African team won the world cup. As results the whole nation busted with celebrations from one tip of the country to another, from black only villages to white communities, all they celebrate one cause. And that was the South African Rugby team for winning the world cup.

And that's what exactly Nelson Mandela saw in his vision when he decided to support all whites team.

He inspired everyone, he surprised everyone and yet he managed to get his vision into reality. After I saw this Documentary I really appreciate more Nelson Mandela and my Sincerely wishes for good health and harmony.

One of the team member of the rugby team said that, "Nelson Mandela he is our 16th Man"

Since I have no idea about rugby, I think each team consist of 15 players only.  So that's why the titled The 16th Man.

Inspire others by expanding knowledge

What one makes difference from the others? what one make stand out from the others?, appreciated and admirer more than others?., inspire more peole and gain their trust for a long term without reservation.  Understand more with open minded with anyone no matter their religion, belief, nation, color of their skin, old or young.

Emirates Road - Dubai

Here is the difference :

1. Those who decided to learn more and came out of the box and break the circle of social barrier:

Yes, we are raised and grow and believe what are our parents followed from their parents and so on.  Don’t get me wrong here, yes you can believe whatever religion you believe in and other believes in your social surrounding practice. But, there are other minors barriers that stop us to know more and expand our knowledge, leave aside main belief such religion.

I will give you examples such as, One believe that where they are, they will remain there and work, married, raise kids and that’s all, that the whole world in his town, city or village and nothing else matter.  No one let them know that they are other opportunities and wide world out there to explore and to appreciate life.

One will never participate in some sports, believing that no one from the entire clan/group participated, before so that this is clearly one’s dream and inspiration already broken.

One will cultivate the belief in their young one and others that learning about other religion is sinful and not ever be inside the church, Masjid – Mosque or other holy places. So they become scared to learn and as result, they are totally in the dark of other believes in order to appreciate it.

One will never allow girls and women to study further and fulfill their dreams, just because it is not allowed in the society. I’m saying again, in the society only since there is not a single religion saying that women are not allowed to work and contribute to the society. This is just made up by those who did not dig deep in the religion and read more about the religion they believe in.

And many others examples that I’m sure many of you, stopped your inspirational dream to move forward.

Inspired by Beauty of Nature

Inspiration results in expanding our knowledge:

Inspiration is all around us, we just have to know how to tackle it and win to move forward and breaking all obstacles on our way.

Take example of ruler of Dubai, the city where no one imagine that in 12 years will be known by half of the world population, where other major cities took centuries to be recognized.  What inspired me to give his example when I read an article from one of the local news that, when HH Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum travel around the world, and particularly to third world countries, he make sure one of his schedule is to visit locals of that particular town or village.

Understand them and see for himself how other nations lived in the conditions that he cannot imagine one can live like that compared to lifestyle back to his country – UAE. The United Arab Emirates.  If another leader, he will just travel to a wildlife park and major interesting part of the country and not bother to know anyone around.

There is a big difference, between the one who will have all the fun at the wildlife and nature reserve and later visit local communities, and the one who just visited what he intends to do.

The difference is when you learn other cultures and way of living in their social surroundings you will appreciate more where you are and also pass the message to others how to succeed in their endeavours.
Lack of broad knowledge of different cultural societies around the world is the main setback of spreading hate.

Take example some of the communities in western world and Africa.  All in their life they never learn or heard about outside world. Never learn that different religions and beliefs other than their own are present.  They do not aware that other nations exist, people who are brown, dark, or black or white are the same human being as themselves.

Inspired by Nature

I remember back in 1995 when I travelled from Yemen to United States Washington DC, transit in Frankfurt airport. There were no any suspicion problems when I travelled from Sanaa capital of Yemen by Yemen Airways, the problem started when I exchange airline to one of US airline in Frankfurt.

All passengers were white from different countries in Europe including Germany,  everyone looked at me as if I was from planet Mars. Reason? Of my skin colour and they are wondering what this guy doing here and travel to the USA.

For it was ok, I never surprised by their looks, and I felt sorry for them, as they are at the lowest point of inspiration, living in fear of other human being and for not travelling the world, experience other nations and to know another side of kindness of this unknown world to them, they just believe of whatever news in the TV broadcast, about few minor bad incidents happen to unknown country.

I believe there is not a single religion in this world encouraged their followers in violence and destruction.  All these are carried out by those who are at the lowest inspiration point in their life and have nothing to do or to go, they end up taking their own life for nothing and for the baseless cause.

The message here, if we all encourage to carry on, and inspire, there will be no violence and hate among each other if everyone is busy carrying out their inspiration which will make a way to better life and worth living.

Inspired by Finishing the Marathon

By spreading hatred and not allow people to grow and access all necessary basics needs, this will create the monster to hunt us back. So always remember others who are less fortunate and help, guide them before "evil" bring necessary basic needs to them and guide them in a wrong way.

And if you try to reason with them, they will tell you "where have you been, why not help us and guide when we need it" so for them "evil" is good and you are too late to be good.

Inspired by Others who accomplished more no matter their origin

Please, spread inspiration without border or limits, this also happened in many Gulf countries in the Middle East. The inspiration for few and majority are left struggle.

While there is a way, but they are facing obstacles not to achieve because of where they are coming from and origin.  I’m not saying all people will take action and turn to be a human bomb, No. Only few might.

So please spread inspiration equally to all, either they are local, or from other countries treat them all equal with all basic needs. Encourage them to shine instead of encouraging only your kind or from your nation only.  This will reduce hate and crimes around the world.

By learning and broaden our knowledge will really help to understand clearly why we are in this world, what our purpose and where we all are going to end, appreciate life, extending helping hand to others.

Pure Gangnam Inspiration - Your Happiness is a Goal

Abu Dhabi - UAE under the Moon Light
Nowadays, is very hard to find people who think and their inspiration is the happiness of the other.
In our time we live in, everyone is busy attracting whatever they can grab to their side.

These people can be leaders, bosses, elders, and sometimes even parents.  Yes, some parents they will not care about your happiness when you already grow up with your family.  All they will need from you to look after them and meet their demands.

What about bosses, these are the people that we reported to them at work and others high up the rank who are decision makers at work?.  The same thing, I'm telling you from my 22 years of working experience, most of them they will not care much if you are monthly earnings meet your expectations and cost of living.  All they will care is about their salaries and benefits, and claiming a single penny out of the pocket. As for you, nope, you cannot, you are like liability of the company and increasing cost of running the company.

As for the leaders, after winning the election, business, as usual, they will forget all their promises to the masses.  Majority of the countries in the world are rich in natural resources, but because of poor, greedy, and less inspired leadership, countries end up asking loans and assistance from the world body.

Gangnam Inspiration - People First - Hassan Al Jabri
People First - Status of a male and female at Downtown Dubai in UAE
An example of Pure Gangnam Inspiration came from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The ruler of Dubai, thinking the happiness of the citizen is one of the goals of the government to successfully govern the country.

Think if all the leaders of the countries around the globe, regions, communities, organizations have the same mentality, this will results in harmony and high in people's inspiration.

Why don't you and me, also do the same at our home and families, even if we did make the happiness of our family is a priority, let us do it more.

Remember, some of the good deeds that we do to others are not necessarily for you to be thank of or to be recognized of, in most cases, it has an effect on the others that you will never witness it, but you, are the one, who initiate it.    Spread the inspiration in any way that you are capable of without any reservation or expecting in return to receive benefits out of it.

Do it like many inspired leaders, personalities and normal people just like you and I did, and the WORLD will thank you.
If you wish to find out more about the Gangnam inspiration from my newly published book, your most welcome.

Gangnam Inspiration: We Are All From the Same Origin

points2deliver@Hassan Al Jabri
Photo: Copyrighted@Hassan Al Jabri

In Chapter Two from Gangnam Inspiration, under a heading:
We Are All From The Same Origin.

You will find out more from this chapter, what I was talking about the subject.  And recent time The Pope proved that too.   Below heading appeared on 28th March 2013, it really touched me so much.

Pope Francis washes feet of Muslims, women in Holy Thursday ceremony

You may click above heading for more info on that particular event.

Pope proved the point which I mentioned in my Book Gangnam Inspiration, exceptional Inspiration Journey Just for You.

Below is the part of the paragraphs from Chapter Two to prove it:

""The sensational acceptability and success of Gangnam Style  also prove that we all are the same human beings, and I say again “Human Beings.” This phenomenon also proves the verse (49:13) from Holy Quran, which mentions, and I quote: “O mankind, indeed! We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”
The most important point from this Quran verse is the wording which I have underlined, “...that you may know one another.” Please do not get me wrong here. I’m not trying to preach any religion in this book, but I have just mentioned the most important phrase here.  For many years now, most of us have forgotten to think judiciously. We have been creating borders and fences around ourselves separating ourselves, distancing one tribe from another, one country from another, one nationality from another and hating each other. Every tribe thinks they are superior to others, leading to conflicts and wars among each other.""

So I think Pope he knows much better than any one of us, he is the unique leader who have the same traits like other leaders who really care about the other without reservation.

Below are just a few paragraphs from different chapters of the book:

"....For many years, most of us have forgotten to think judiciously. We have been creating orders and fences around ourselves separating ourselves, distancing one tribe from another, one country from another, one nationality from another and hating each other. Every tribe thinks they are superior to others, leading to conflicts and wars among each other. This all has happened since we forget that, although it is true that people from West, East, South and North are different from each other, they are not meant to hate and fight each other. All this creation of tribes, different colours and languages is just to know and understand one another...."

"...The way we live, the way we deal with our surroundings and communities, how we mirror ourselves to others, how we treat ourselves as we age, how we strictly follow our local customs, how we were raised when we were young and how we raised our children, our work-life balance and many similar things, if not conducted and balanced properly, can contribute to low esteem and lack of that magic Gangnam inspiration. Again I wonder why this particular style from Psy, a South Korean national, could inspire all of us who have either heard the song or had a glimpse of the video, original or parody. It has really done a great job. What’s the secret behind this phenomenon then?..."

"....There are few leaders and famous personalities in this world who have really made a difference and inspired many in their countries and even around the globe by promoting their simple Gangnam inspiration in every possible way.  I will try to present qualities of some of them for you here. I know there were so many before who have passed away and left their legends and there are some who are alive today and still shining. All of them have same traits although they are from different backgrounds, cultures and countries."

"...the main inspiration of “Baba” Zayed was his simplicity and open-mindedness. When British arrived in Abu Dhabi that time, they were all surprised how such an Arab who had never been out of his small world could be so open-minded, by allowing freedom of religion in his country. Foreigners were free to practice their own religion, and women enjoyed equal status in the society. This surprised most Western thinkers who thought there was no equality of women in this part of the world. By the early 1960s, exploration of oil was in full swing in Abu Dhabi, and as a result, after few years Abu Dhabi, under the leadership of “Baba” Zayed, became the richest among all other Emirates, which included Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Um Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. These Emirates are all close together, sharing the Gulf Sea and partly the Indian Ocean from Fujairah side. But “Baba” Zayed knew that the blessing and richness of his Emirate must benefit all other Emirates, too and he suggested to form the United Arab Emirates and thus united all the Emirates as one country...."

"...There is no dearth of real-life examples from common people like you and me, who are not famous, celebrities, or big leaders, and yet have made up their mark in the society through some of their actions involving dedication, determination, simplicity and love."

"...YOU can also make a positive difference in others’ lives. It needs just a small spark before it begins, little motivation to do whatever you believe in and commitment to carry it on. That’s all. Most importantly, try to erase all negative thoughts from your mind, and replace them with positive ones. Don’t’ be bothered by your failures, and take them as a learning process. Failures don’t mean time to be sad and feel miserable. Any road to success will always have difficulties and failures and we should be ready for them and face them with courage. Don’t’ use them an excuse not to move forward.  Failures are stepping stones to success. Derive inspiration from them to work harder and better than before..."
